Taylor has become the youngest person inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. The ceremony follows in the footsteps of her induction - also as its youngest class member - to the Songwriters Hall of Fame earlier this summer. Fresh on the other side of her debut album marking its 20th anniversary, it’s all feeling quite nostalgic and sentimental isn’t it?
Naturally, these two milestones so close together present the opportunity for visual comparison. Given this, I wondered how the two looks might convene or differ. We now have our answer! Where her previous SHOF look in custom Givenchy went full-length formal, her Nashville induction got the mini treatment in a short velvet dress. The shorter length feels a bit more playful over a gown - as does that sweet half up/half down hair in comparison to the swept updo from the SHOF ceremony. Perhaps a nod to her early start being in Nashville which she emphasized in her acceptance remarks. Where the outings offered similarities? Beautiful florals! I thought the velvet fabrication here felt lush and appropriately fall-like. With the flowery print, perhaps even a little like a vintage tapestry.
As a sparkly finisher, Taylor opted for 65 carats of diamonds from Leviev (many thanks to the team for confirming these details directly with me). At first glance I considered how a vintage-style collar necklace in a plummy tone might have looked. My mind recalls that intricate antique-inspired stunner she wore on Seth Meyers during Showgirl promotion last year — also while wearing a very fall-inspired strapless floral mini. Though I can’t deny diamonds are always a beautiful choice. Plus they tie into the crystal strap on her Jimmy Choos which offered a pop of color that coordinated with the florals on her dress. As a forever lover of the minimalist ankle strap heel - these had me heart eyed!
