the commentary
After a few weeks off (away game, bye week), Taylor was at Arrowhead Stadium to support the Chiefs at home against the Los Angeles Chargers.
In keeping with her game day M.O., Taylor leaned on a Chiefs red colour palette. This went all the way down to her jewels, which included an older Retrouvai ring we’ve seen her wear as far back as Super Bowl LVIII. Likewise were her monogram Louis Vuitton earrings which she’s had in her jewelry box since September 2024. Their styling here also made for a natural pairing with her LV bodysuit. There’s fun in recognizing repeat elements of her outfits and what she genuinely loves and keeps coming back to.
Aesthetically, I observed the distinctiveness of each of her three appearances so far this season. The vintage tinge of the season opener in mod gingham. The casual cute NFL merch of the second game. And now, a touch of luxe sporty energy. Like tapping into different - but still recognizable - elements of Taylor’s football fashion. This is precisely what I find so fun and engaging about her Chiefs looks. The degree of thought that goes into building a season of outfits that are cohesive enough to be connected, but different enough to stand on their own. Especially year over year - as is now the case four seasons in.
I thought the contrast stripe stitching and mesh-like fabric on the sleeve of her bodysuit gave the top an apt athletic-wear vibe. In thinking about longtime pieces of her closet, I noticed that the resale listing for this particular piece referenced it as circa 2023. It made me wonder if this was an intentional pull a few seasons after the fact, or if it’s been a game day piece that Taylor has had sourced since her “rookie” season of sports spectatorship and only now gets to have its moment.
