“I Knew It, I Knew You” Listening Party

the commentary
If it wasn’t already clear that Taylor intended to give “I Knew It, I Knew You” a proper push, news that she was personally making the rounds with country radio confirmed it. In early June, Taylor hosted a series of listening parties for country programmers and personalities to give the song an exclusive preview as well as an opportunity to spend time with Taylor discussing the song itself. This isn’t uncommon practice in the country genre, nor is it unfamiliar territory for Taylor who would previously partake in radio rounds for country spinners in her earliest days in the genre. It is, however, a rare treat in 2026. The degree of effort tells me that both Taylor, and her label, are excited to give the song life on country radio (with a long game eye towards that Best Original Song nomination!).
Her outfit comprised a ruched red dress by a New York-based brand called M’rhen. I found it particularly charming that both of her dresses worn for these intimate music listening sessions were by smaller, new-to-her designers.
I also find it particularly charming that for each of her Toy Story 5-related appearances (including the street style outing in April where she appeared to deliver a stylish Easter Egg of its forthcoming release) she’s reworn the same antique horseshoe necklace by Sophie Jane. I spoke to Sophie Jane who told me about the backstory of the piece, including how it originally started life in a completely different setting! Jane told me she acquired the piece in April 2025 on one of her buying trips. She continued to tell Taylor Swift Style, “The horseshoe is antique and set with an estimated 2 carats of old mine cut diamonds. It was originally a brooch and I converted it to a pendant. I set the bale in a slightly off-centre orientation and thought it had a more interest look when worn.”
