the commentary

What a marvelous year it’s been for Taylor and the long-game building of her legacy. Already inducted into two separate Songwriting Halls of Fame in her first year of eligibility. and included on the list of NYT Mag’s 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters, Taylor joined the Grammy Museum for a “20 Year Retrospective” on her career and her craft. That session is now available in full on the Grammy / Grammy Museum’s YouTube.

TSS is always going to be about analyzing the visuals and the fashion of the moment. I look forward to diving into the contents of the interview / session in order to fully contextualize her comments with the images we have here. That to say: My full thoughts loading!

But of course if you know me you likely know that my very first instinctual thought was greeeeeeeeeeeen.

To keep the emphasis on the lovely colour and detailing of her floaty Dôen dress, Taylor played it simple, timeless, and elegant with her jewelry. Those earrings are gorgeous and looked lovely peeking out from the tendrils of her woven updo.

I thought the decision to go without a necklace was a wise one so as not to compete with the floral elements at the dress’ neckline.

More of my notes to come! 💚
