A double header of appearances! While she was busy cheering on the Chiefs from an Arrowhead Suite, the Primetime Emmys aired one of those “cool pre-taped sketch things” featuring a surprise cameo from Taylor herself.
Of course, I’m first in line to tout the power of fashion in communicating a message. But I’m also the first to happily step aside and let more Egg-happy hunters in to pull apart the very funny and very meta moments from this skit. Saccharide? Aries? Vineyard? North and south? Over my head!
What I will focus on is this sharply tailored (pun intended) McQueen suit she wore to step into the role of a “rookie” in a Law & Order: SVU-themed skit, one of Taylor’s longtime favourite TV shows, alongside Olivia Benson herself. She looked every bit the part of detective - down to that badge accessory on her belt! In styling, details always matter. Rather than going for a bold-coloured suit, I thought the muted neutral tone chosen worked to help her blend into the cast rather than stand out. Though wasn’t that performance a dramatic standout for her acting? I laughed!
