A showgirl reprising her role! On September 23, Taylor announced The Encore, a deluxe edition of her twelfth studio album The Life of a Showgirl. The album brings back original collaborators - Max Martin and Shellback - and was recorded in the celebratory aftermath of Showgirl’s record-breaking release week in the fall of 2025. Four new tracks will join the originally-released dozen.
For Encore’s cover, we get the pleasure of seeing one of the photos from Showgirl’s original album shoot previously only seen in exclusive shots from the album’s booklets blown up to have its own moment. The first thing I noticed were the colors of her textured mini dress: Orange and silver. They seem to nod to the glitter shades chosen to mark The Life of a Showgirl (orange) and The Encore (silver). A great way to nod to the two!
The short and sassy length - with all those swingy textured details - fits the exuberant and shimmering world of Showgirl. Plus those crystal sock heels are a repeating motif seen elsewhere in the album’s visuals, keeping things consistent and cohesive.
