Taylor Swift wears a muted The Row outfit with Dakota Johnson in "Patient Zero" music video.

the commentary

One of the clearest connections to make in the “Zero” music video’s wardrobe choices is to the minimalist palette that Taylor opted for this past spring. Knowing the music video was filmed in March helps to contextualize the street style moments April-May. We even saw Taylor wear these very pants while out in New York City.

To be sure, the general austerity of the video - from its setting and location to its clothing - reads to me as an intentional stark contrast to the vivid, glittering world of Showgirl. It brings to my mind the lyric “I'm just getting color back into my face” and how very desaturated and bleak the “Patient Zero” landscape looks and feels.
