Taylor playing outdoor cat this week in New York City. While I’m on vacation no less! Thank you all for your kind birthday wishes and patience + understanding as I catch up on Taylor’s ‘fits in between beach frolicking. It was a beautiful week celebrating another year around the sun in Maui.
Now, for this lewk. I love Taylor branching out and adding new designers to her fashion catalogue. Thom Browne is a notably very “cool” brand, known for redefining suiting with avant-garde elements like dramatically shrunken silhouettes. A preppy look like this fits right in with Taylor’s girly street style. We’ve seen her wear a combination of a checked mini skirt and heeled loafers for years. In fact, we’ve seen her wear these exact heeled Gucci loafers before - in Nov 2024 in black and Sept 2025 in brown.
This is in instance where I love many elements of the outfit, but perhaps not all at once and all together. The palette, for instance, is wonderfully autumnal. And the overall look feels like a natural extension of Taylor’s schoolgirl-ish style — with a designer boost. That said, I might have been tempted to swap in a maroon collared sweater to tie into her Gucci heels. Or a dark skirt to work with the contrast blocking of her Thom Browne polo. Maybe even a larger bag to balance the shorter proportions of her top and skirt (the pushed up sleeves, the short hemline) and tie into the chunky factor of her shoes. Just a few of my personal on small style tweaks. But I will *always* applaud the effort to expand and try new things. Especially if those things involve Thom Browne.
