the commentary

Taylor and Travis made a surprise appearance together out in London, England. They were photographed earlier in the evening grabbing dinner at Indian restaurant Gymkhana alongside British cinematographer Rina Yang, with whom Taylor has previously collaborated on All Too Well: The Short Film. It was certainly a night for the arts as, following dinner, the couple made their way to the West End to see Sadie Sink (also from the aforementioned RED-era short film) in the play Romeo & Juliet.

For a spring evening out, Taylor struck an appropriately romantic chord in a dark floral dress by Australian-based brand Zimmermann. I particularly loved the combination of this feminine corseted dress against the sleek coat she was spotted wearing leaving the restaurant. A dreamy combo!

Of course, the item that drew my eye most (and not just for its colour - IYKYK) was her JW Anderson loafer bag, new from the latest summer collection. The design, another classic “it big” designed by Anderson, borrows details from the classic penny loafer - tapping into a design that Taylor wears often. I can imagine that might be what drew her to the bag in the first place? The style does a few things to extend Taylor’s recent visuals. First, it calls back to the minty “celadon” hue of her Wiederhoeft ensemble at the iHeartRadio Awards in March. Secondly, it marks her third street style appearance in a row carrying a Jonathan Anderson-designed bag. Her last two street style moments, both in New York, saw her toting designs by Dior, where Anderson serves as creative director. Thirdly, you know for me that the shade elicited a greeeeeeeeeeeen. I love how it picked up subtly on the leaf details in her dress? So well-coordinated.
