the commentary
Following this weekend’s home game against the Raiders, Taylor and Travis made their way to his restaurant 1587 Prime for a winning meal. We managed to get a few flurried glimpses of Taylor’s ‘fit thanks to diners who were lucky enough to see them walk in. I’m eyeing her necklace, shorts, and boots for more details - but in the interim these are the pieces I feel sure about!
The bag, necklace, and bracelet are all repeats we’ve seen Taylor wear recently - exercising that repeat style pillar of hers. You might remember the Chanel bag specifically as Taylor carried it into a different sporting event with Travis a few months ago: the Stanley Cup. The necklace is a restyling of her recent Selim Mouzannar chain which comes from their “Kastak” collection. It appears the chain on her style is adjustable as it sits at a longer length here Taylor’s first run with it.
But what really caught my eye was the corset which appears to be a silk brocade floral by Prada, noted on reseller sites as circa 1999. To be sure, the Prada Fall 1999 runway featured multiple corsets throughout its presentation. But Taylor’s stands out for its romantic floral print. Its colour also nods to Chiefs red, something Taylor often incorporates into her game day outfits. My first thought on seeing this outfit - blurry as it was! - is how it reminded me of her NFL 2024-25 season opener look. Then, Taylor also wore a corset + denim shorts + thigh high boot combination that feels replicated piece by piece here. That is, if this was indeed Taylor’s game outfit. As previously noted, this year Taylor hasn’t followed her tunnel walk procedure from past seasons so photos from her in the suite at Arrowhead are sparse / non-existent, which makes confirmation tough. If this was indeed her game day look, taking the vintage element as a consideration factor I felt that it tracked with my previous observation that her third season of NFL fashion seems to bridge her football “eras” so to speak by combining the vintage Chiefs merch of her debut year with the high-fashion designer looks of season two. It’s a look that very much works for her - so I can’t blame her for the continuation (will never say no to an OTK boot!). Plus, I love the idea of this season’s evolution, if indeed intentional.
